In his speech to new students, UCLA Chancellor Gene Block praised the newest Bruins for reaching an important milestone, and encouraged them to embrace even challenging ideas.

This year the campus opens the First to Go living learning community to provide support for students who are the first in their families to attend college.

The campus is coming to life for the start of the academic year with festivals, concerts, film screenings, information sessions, networking events and tours.
